Biography

John Glaeser was born on 22 Jul 1857.

He was the son of Louis William Glaeser and Wilhelmina Elizabeth le Sueur.

He was christened on 9 Aug 1857 at Lutheran Church, Cape Town, South Africa.

He married Maria Lavine Olwage on 16 Jan 1888 at Kimberley, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Maria Lavine was the daughter of Johannes Hendrik Cloete Olwage and Johanna Adriana Matthee. She was born on 1 Feb 1864 at Villiersdorp, Cape Colony.

They had 7 children: Louis William Glaeser, Henry John Glaeser, John Glaeser, Johanna Wilhelmina Glaeser, Wilhelmina Elizabeth Glaeser, Maria Glaeser and Rykie Glaeser.

He died on 9 Apr 1914 at Potchefstroom, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 56.
