Biography

Maria Lavine Olwage was born on 1 Feb 1864 at Villiersdorp, Cape Colony.

She was the daughter of Johannes Hendrik Cloete Olwage and Johanna Adriana Matthee.

She was also known as Marie Olwage.

She married John Glaeser on 16 Jan 1888 at Kimberley, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. John was the son of Louis William Glaeser and Wilhelmina Elizabeth le Sueur. He was born on 22 Jul 1857. He died on 9 Apr 1914 at Potchefstroom, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 56.

They had 7 children: Louis William Glaeser, Henry John Glaeser, John Glaeser, Johanna Wilhelmina Glaeser, Wilhelmina Elizabeth Glaeser, Maria Glaeser and Rykie Glaeser.
