Maria Louisa Glaeser was born on 25 Dec 1866 at Holsloot, Tulbagh, Cape Colony.

She was the daughter of John Christian Glaeser and Elizabeth Catherina Vos.

She was christened on 20 Jan 1867 at Tulbagh, Cape Colony.

She married Daniel Jacobus de Wet on 10 May 1892 at Tulbagh, Cape Colony. Daniel Jacobus was the son of Jacobus Stephanus de Wet and Martha Magdalena Marais. He was born on 26 May 1865 at Brandvlei, Worcester, Cape Colony. He died on 15 Mar 1939 at Robertson, Cape, South Africa at the age of 73.

They had 5 children: John Christy de Wet, Jacobus Stephanus de Wet, Elizabeth Vos de Wet, Malcolm de Wet and Daniel Jacobus de Wet.

She died on 3 Feb 1952 at Robertson, Cape, South Africa at the age of 85.
