Elizabeth Catherina Vos was born on 31 Dec 1835 at Nooitgedacht, Tulbagh Kloof, Cape Of Good Hope, South Africa.

She was the daughter of Willem Nicolaas Vos and Sophia Maria Edwards.

She married John Christian Glaeser on 14 Jan 1857 at Tulbagh, Cape, South Africa. John Christian was the son of George William Henry Glaeser and Dorothea Catharina Cornelia van Dyk. He was born on 28 Jun 1820 at Worcester, Cape Colony. He died on 14 Apr 1900 at Tulbagh, Cape Colony, South Africa at the age of 79.

They had 9 children: Elizabeth Henrietta Christina Glaeser, Dorothea Georgina Glaeser, George William Glaeser, Johanna Margaritha Petronella Glaeser, William Nicholas Glaeser, Maria Louisa Glaeser, Catharina Johanna Glaeser, Henrietta Sophia Glaeser and Louisa Wilhelmina Glaeser.

She died on 18 May 1873 at the age of 37.
