Biography

Daniel Jacobus de Wet was born on 26 May 1865 at Brandvlei, Worcester, Cape Colony.

He was the son of Jacobus Stephanus de Wet and Martha Magdalena Marais.

He married Maria Louisa Glaeser on 10 May 1892 at Tulbagh, Cape Colony. Maria Louisa was the daughter of John Christian Glaeser and Elizabeth Catherina Vos. She was born on 25 Dec 1866 at Holsloot, Tulbagh, Cape Colony. She died on 3 Feb 1952 at Robertson, Cape, South Africa at the age of 85.

They had 5 children: John Christy de Wet, Jacobus Stephanus de Wet, Elizabeth Vos de Wet, Malcolm de Wet and Daniel Jacobus de Wet.

He died on 15 Mar 1939 at Robertson, Cape, South Africa at the age of 73.
