Biography

John "Jack" Whipp was born on 26 Jul 1891 at Newcastle, Colony of Natal.

He was the son of William Whipp and Annie Maud Simpson.

He was christened on 26 Sep 1891 at Newcastle, Colony of Natal.

He married Dora Agnes MacDonald on 18 Aug 1916 at St John's Church, Hampstead, Camden, England. Dora Agnes was the daughter of Ronald Gladstone Macdonald. She was born on 23 Feb 1894 at Durban, Colony of Natal. She died on 21 Dec 1995 at the age of 101.

They had 4 children: Anne Margaret "Peggy" Whipp, Flora Marjorie Whipp, Mary "Little Lou" Whipp and John Whipp.

He died on 26 May 1981 at the age of 89.

He was buried in 1981 at Newcastle Old Cemetery, Newcastle, Natal, South Africa.
