He married Denise Cowen on 14 Jan 1956 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. Denise was the daughter of Joseph Denton (Dent Or Goggy) Cowen and Marjorie Jane ( Ba) Whipp. She was born on 2 Oct 1936 at Germiston, Transvaal, South Africa. She died on 2 May 2020 at Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales at the age of 83.

He married Aletta Gertruida Catharina De Beer on 19 Aug 1967 at Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa. Aletta Gertruida Catharina was the daughter of Barend Johannes de Beer and Aletta Gertruida Catharina van Staden. She was born on 22 Apr 1932 at Ventersdorp, Transvaal, South Africa. She died on 18 Sep 2005 at Leeudoringstad, Wolmaransstad, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 73.
