Margaret Allison was born about 1810.

She was the daughter of James Allison and Ann Maxwell.

She married James Cameron on 4 Sep 1833 at Cape Town, Cape Colony. James was the son of James Cameron and Marion Arthur. He was born on 1 Aug 1805 at Kirkintilloch, Dunbarton, Scotland. He died on 12 Dec 1875 at Wesleyan Mission House, Pietermaritzburg, Natal South Africa at the age of 70.

They had 8 children: James (Jim) Cameron, John Allison Cameron, Marion Arthur Cameron, Margaret Ann Cameron, Ellen Dorothy Cameron, Arthur William Cameron, Henry Maxwell Cameron and Elizabeth Mary Cameron.
