Biography

He was the son of James Cameron and Margaret Allison.

He was christened on 20 Jul 1837.

He married Charlotte Jane Fultcher on 18 Oct 1864 at Bloemfontein, Orange Free State. Charlotte Jane was the daughter of William Futcher and Mariah Jacobs. She was born at Colesberg, Cape of Good Hope. She died on 4 Oct 1894 at Farm "Eliasfontein", Moroka, Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa.

They had 6 children: Edith Marion Cameron, John William Cameron, Elizabeth Charlotte Cameron, Dora Ellen Cameron, Helen Margaret Cameron and Florence Cameron.

He died on 2 Apr 1892 at Port Alfred, Bathurst, Colony of the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.

He was buried on 3 Apr 1892 at St Paul's, Bathurst, Grahamstown, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.
