Biography

James Cameron was born on 1 Aug 1805 at Kirkintilloch, Dunbarton, Scotland.

He was the son of James Cameron and Marion Arthur.

He married Margaret Allison on 4 Sep 1833 at Cape Town, Cape Colony. Margaret was the daughter of James Allison and Ann Maxwell. She was born about 1810.

They had 8 children: James (Jim) Cameron, John Allison Cameron, Marion Arthur Cameron, Margaret Ann Cameron, Ellen Dorothy Cameron, Arthur William Cameron, Henry Maxwell Cameron and Elizabeth Mary Cameron.

His occupation was Wesleyan Missionary.

He died on 12 Dec 1875 at Wesleyan Mission House, Pietermaritzburg, Natal South Africa at the age of 70.

He was buried in 1875 at Wesleyan Cemetery, Commercial Road, Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa.
