Biography

James David Foote was born on 18 Feb 1852 at New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.

He was the son of Robert Benjamin Foot and Thirza Rickard Wills.

He married Emily Augusta Harvey on 14 Jan 1879 at Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand. Emily Augusta was the daughter of William Henry Harvey and Augusta Anne Alexander. She was born on 13 Oct 1856 at Auckland, New Zealand. She died on 18 Jul 1936 at D'Urville Island, Pelorus Sounds, New Zealand at the age of 79.

They had 7 children: David William Foote, Annie Thirza Catherine Foote, Lilian Augusta Foote, Violet Linda Foote, Alfred Robert Foote, Ethel Enid Foote and Alva Stacey Foote.

He died on 24 Dec 1920 at Wilson Bay, Marlborough, New Zealand at the age of 68.

He was buried at Havelock cemetery, Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand.
