Emily Augusta Harvey was born on 13 Oct 1856 at Auckland, New Zealand.

She was the daughter of William Henry Harvey and Augusta Anne Alexander.

She married James David Foote on 14 Jan 1879 at Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand. James David was the son of Robert Benjamin Foot and Thirza Rickard Wills. He was born on 18 Feb 1852 at New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. He died on 24 Dec 1920 at Wilson Bay, Marlborough, New Zealand at the age of 68.

They had 7 children: David William Foote, Annie Thirza Catherine Foote, Lilian Augusta Foote, Violet Linda Foote, Alfred Robert Foote, Ethel Enid Foote and Alva Stacey Foote.

She died on 18 Jul 1936 at D'Urville Island, Pelorus Sounds, New Zealand at the age of 79.

She was buried in 1936 at Havelock cemetery, Havelock, Marlborough, New Zealand.
