Alice Elizabeth Thring was born on 30 Sep 1849 at Marylebone, Middlesex, England.
She was the daughter of Samuel Thring and Elizabeth Treleaven.
She was christened on 11 Jul 1858 at Mount Moreland, Tongaat, Natal, South Africa.
She immigrated from London and Plymouth to Durban on 24 Mar 1850 aboard Sovereign.
She married John Hamish Munro on 23 Nov 1868 at Mount Albert, Tongaat, Natal, South Africa. John Hamish was the son of George Munro and Margaret Ross. He was born on 15 May 1843 at Rosskeen, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. He died on 8 May 1886 at Newcastle, Natal, South Africa at the age of 42.
They had 5 children: Agnes Jessie Treleven Munro, George Samuel Munro, John Ross Munro, Frank Albert (Burt) Munro and Alice Caroline Munro.
She died on 8 May 1877 at Newcastle, Colony of Natal at the age of 27.
She was buried on 16 May 1877 at Old Cemetery, Newcastle, Colony of Natal.
