Biography

Thomas Gibson (Gibby) Clendinning was born on 27 Jul 1907.

He was the son of Richard (Dick) Clendinning and Laura Selina Munro.

He was also known as Gibby Clendinning.

He was christened on 19 Sep 1908 at St Johns Church, Pinetown, Colony of Natal.

He married Phyllis Ada Schwegmann on 11 Nov 1939 at Pinetown, Natal, South Africa. Phyllis Ada was the daughter of Frederick Herman Schwegmann and Emily Elizabeth Howell. She was born on 22 Dec 1916. She died on 6 Nov 2004 at Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa at the age of 87.

They had 3 children: Lynn Clendinning, Nola Clendinning and Allan Gibson Clendinning.

He died on 10 Aug 1993 at Pinetown, Natal, South Africa at the age of 86.

He was buried in 1993 at St Johns Church, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa.
