Biography

Johanna Cruse was born on 5 Feb 1682 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope.

She was the daughter of Hieronimus Cruse and Aletta (Aaltje) Elberts van Nieuwenhuys.

She married Johannes Swellengrebel on 28 Jun 1699 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope. Johannes was the son of Henrick Swellengrebel and Elisabeth Fadenrecht. He was born on 17 May 1671 at Moscow, Russia. He died in 1744 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope.

They had 7 children: Hendrik Swellengrebel, Aletta Swellengrebel, Hieronimus Swellengrebel, Elisabeth Swellengrebel, Johannes Balthazar Swellengrebel, Regina Maria Swellengrebel and Johanna Catharina Swellengrebel.

She died on 19 May 1713 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope at the age of 31.
