Biography

William Hodgson was born on 15 Oct 1832 at Mount Zion General Baptist, Hepstonall Slack, York, England.

He was the son of James Hodgson and Sally\Sarah Gill.

He married Mary Colborne Phipson on 21 Jan 1868 at Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal. She was born about 1846. She died on 14 Feb 1886 at 2 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal, South Africa.

He died on 29 Jan 1898 at Volksrust, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 65.

He was buried in 1898 at Old Cemetery, Newcastle, Colony of Natal.
