Sally\Sarah Gill was born about 1810.

She was the daughter of William Gill and Hannah Sunderland.

She married James Hodgson on 22 Dec 1829 at St John the Baptist, Halifax, Yorkshire, England. James was the son of John Hodgson and Grace Cockcroft. He was born on 4 Mar 1808 at Heptonstall, Yorkshire, England. He died on 30 Jun 1872 at the age of 64.

They had 5 children: John Hodgson, William Hodgson, Mary Anne Hodgson, Helen Hodgson and Thomas Akroyd Hodgson.

She died on 28 Dec 1884.

She was buried in 1885 at Anglican Church Cemetery, Commercial Road, Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa.
