Mary Colborne Phipson was born about 1846.

She married William Hodgson on 21 Jan 1868 at Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal. William was the son of James Hodgson and Sally\Sarah Gill. He was born on 15 Oct 1832 at Mount Zion General Baptist, Hepstonall Slack, York, England. He died on 29 Jan 1898 at Volksrust, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 65.

She died on 14 Feb 1886 at 2 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal, South Africa.
