Geoffrey Dryden Kirkland was born on 11 Jun 1928.

He was the son of Sydney Kirkland and Margaret Selina (Peggy) Dryden.

He married Lene Lotte Brandt on 10 Oct 1953 at Grahamstown, Albany, Cape, South Africa. She was born on 17 May 1931. She died on 21 Feb 2013 at the age of 81.
