Lene Lotte Brandt was born on 17 May 1931.

She married Geoffrey Dryden Kirkland on 10 Oct 1953 at Grahamstown, Albany, Cape, South Africa. Geoffrey Dryden was the son of Sydney Kirkland and Margaret Selina (Peggy) Dryden. He was born on 11 Jun 1928. He died on 19 Jun 1988 at the age of 60.

They had 4 children: Living, Living, Living and Living.

She died on 21 Feb 2013 at the age of 81.

She was buried in 2013 at Waainek Cemetery, Grahamstown, Cape, South Africa.
