She was born on 15 May 1905 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She died on 1 May 1976 at 2 Mount Pleasant, The Toft, Elie, Leven, Scotland at the age of 70.

They had 2 children: Colin Alexander Diack Ovenston and Edna Barbara Janet McGill Ovenston.
