Barbara Morison Diack was born on 15 May 1905 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

She was the daughter of Alexander Diack and Barbara Morison McCondach.

She married James McGill Ovenston on 18 Nov 1927 at South Parish Church, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. James McGill was the son of William Ovenston and Janet McGill. He was born on 3 Feb 1900 at 2 Links Place, Elie, Fifeshire, Scotland. He died on 2 Oct 1976 at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, Scotland at the age of 76.

They had 2 children: Colin Alexander Diack Ovenston and Edna Barbara Janet McGill Ovenston.

She died on 1 May 1976 at 2 Mount Pleasant, The Toft, Elie, Leven, Scotland at the age of 70.
