Biography

George Ross Munro was born on 24 Dec 1889 at Pinetown, Colony of Natal.

He was the son of George Munro and Selina Jane Davie.

He was christened at Congregational Church, Durban, Colony of Natal.

He married Ethel Constance Forrest on 8 Jan 1919 at St John's Church, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa. Ethel Constance was the daughter of Andrew Benjamin Forrest and Emily Baytopp. She was born in 1896. She died on 7 Mar 1981 at Natal, South Africa.

They had 5 children: Selina Emily Munro, Arthur George Munro, Ernest Andrew Munro, Laurel Dorothy Munro and Maureen Lucy Munro.

He served in Natal Mounted Rifles, World War 1 between 1914-1918.

He died on 15 Oct 1957 at Sanatorium, Chelmsford Road, Durban, Natal, South Africa at the age of 67.

He was buried on 17 Oct 1957 at St Johns Church, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa.
