Johannes Adriaan le Sueur was born on 11 Jan 1803 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope.

He was the son of Ryk le Sueur and Helena Maria Geertruida Karnspek.

He was christened on 16 Jan 1803 at Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope.

He married Anna Elisabeth Cloete on 15 Jul 1842 at Durbanville, South Africa. Anna Elisabeth was the daughter of Hendrick Cloete and Anna Gesina Bolchilds. She was born on 10 Aug 1822. She died on 9 Jul 1893 at Tuglewood, Newlands, Cape Town, Cape Colony at the age of 70.

They had 2 children: Ryk Tulbagh le Sueur and Johannes Jacobus le Sueur.

His occupation was Postmaster General.

He died on 21 Jun 1876 at Rosedale Gardens, Cape Town, Cape Colony at the age of 73.
