She was the daughter of Maarten Baartman and Catharina Elisabeth Janse.

She was christened on 26 Feb 1775.

She married Jacques Gideon Tredoux on 16 May 1813. He was born on 6 Apr 1767 at Den Haag, Hollande, Nederland. He died on 29 Mar 1832 at Cape Town, Cape Colony at the age of 64.
