She was the daughter of Daniel Ferguson Calder and Daphne Catherine Poacher.

She married Edward Sephton Clayton Garner. He was born on 19 Jul 1939. He died on 8 Nov 2025 at the age of 86.

They had 3 children: Living, Living and Living.

She married Peter Sale. He was born on 1 Jul 1928. He died on 20 Mar 1994 at Kloof, Natal, South Africa at the age of 65.
