Alfred Matthew Diack was born on 7 Mar 1860 at St Nicholas, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
He was the son of Alexander Diack and Agnes Ellis.
He married Juanita Phoebe van Gelder. She was born about 1868. She died on 12 Jun 1901 at Refugee Camp Hospital, Norvalspont, Orange Free State.
They had 2 children: Lionel Ellis Diack and Yolande Emily Diack.
He died on 10 Jun 1900 at Botha's Pass, Natal, South Africa at the age of 40.
