Peter Melchior Carl Hahn was born about 1850 at Germany.

He married Margarethe Sidonie Schulz on 12 Feb 1880 at Durban, Colony of Natal. Margarethe Sidonie was the daughter of Theodor Rudolph Julius Schulz and Marie Louisa Anne Nixen. She was born on 31 Jul 1860 at Durban, Colony of Natal. She died on 7 Mar 1911 at "German Hospital", Naples, Italy at the age of 50.

They had 2 children: Inez Hahn and Karl Oscar Jack Hahn.

He died on 15 Nov 1912 at Clark Road, Durban, Natal, South Africa.
