She married John (Black John, Hone Kere) Geary on 18 Mar 1873 at Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. John (Black John, Hone Kere) was the son of William (Snr) Geary and Etahi Taitapu (Tatupai) (Elizabeth) Poripoki. He was born on 5 May 1848 at Portobello, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. He died on 15 Jul 1930 at Seacliff Mental Asylum, Dunedin, New Zealand at the age of 82.

They had one child: Martin Geary.
