She was the daughter of Horace Thomas Leroni-Stoten and Magdalena Robina Harker.

She married Abel Jacobus Pienaar on 28 Jun 1947 at Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He died on 1 Oct 1973 at Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa.

She died on 6 Jul 2004 at the age of 81.
