He married Johanna Margaretha Leckerwijn on 1 Apr 1764 at Stellenbosch, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Johanna Margaretha was the daughter of Klaus Lekkerwijn and Anna Lijsbeth Gerrits.

They had 2 children: Elias Laurents Campher and Anna Sophia Campher.

He died about Mar 1785 at Cape of Good Hope.
