Olof Godlieb de Wet was born on 8 Mar 1776.

He was the son of Hendrik Justinus de Wet and Elisabeth Jacoba le Fèbre.

He married Anna Martha Horak on 26 Dec 1802.

They had 11 children: Jan Andries de Wet, Elisabeth Jacoba de Wet, Sophia Alida Johanna de Wet, Magdalena Carolina Oloffina de Wet, Hendrik Justinus de Wet, Jacobus Alexander de Wet, Olof Godlieb de Wet, Elisabeth Jacoba Margaretha de Wet, Johanna Hillegonda de Wet, Esther Adriana Johanna de Wet and Maria Margaretha de Wet.

He died on 26 Apr 1827 at the age of 51.
