He was the son of Norbett Joseph Brown and Helen (Nellie) Shaw Diack.

He married Audrey Christina Shute. She was born on 5 Aug 1936. She died on 6 Nov 1998 at Oakville, Ontario, Canada at the age of 62.

They had 8 children: Anne Marie Brown, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living, Living and Living.
