Angelique Maria Adelaide van der Bijl was born on 21 Jun 1869 at Worcester, Cape, South Africa.

She was the daughter of Philip Daniel Johannes van der Byl and Helena Maria Geertruyda le Sueur.

She married William Adriaan van der Bijl on 9 Nov 1887. William Adriaan was the son of Willem Adriaan van der Bijl and Maria Anna Sophia Hopley. He was born on 5 Aug 1855 at Tygerberg, Cape, South Africa. He died on 15 Feb 1897 at the age of 41.

She died on 23 Mar 1920 at Wynberg, Cape, South Africa at the age of 50.
