Biography

Christoffel Joseph Brand was born on 21 Jun 1797 at Cape Town, Cape, South Africa.

He was the son of Jan Hendrik Brand and Wilhelmina Catharina le Sueur.

He married Catherina Frederika Kuchler on 30 Sep 1822 at Cape Town, Cape, South Africa. Catherina Frederika was the daughter of George Coenraad Kuchler and Anna Jacomina Fischer. She died on 6 Jul 1868 at South Africa.

They had one child: Johannes Henricus Brand.

He died on 19 May 1875 at Cape Town, Cape, South Africa at the age of 77.
