Biography

Henry James (Harry) Barclay was born in 1888 at Drumblade, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

He was the son of David Barclay and Catherine Grant.

He was recorded in the census in 1891 at Drumblade, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

He married Dorothy Catherine Low on 1 Jun 1918 at Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Dorothy Catherine was the daughter of George Low and Annie Macallan. She was born on 16 May 1890 at 86 Charlotte Street, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She died on 16 Feb 1949 at Witbank, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 58.

They had one child: George Low Barclay.

He emigrated on 7 Aug 1924, from London to Cape Town, aboard Beltana.
