He married Dorothea Maria Georgina Vos on 10 Oct 1882 at Tulbagh, Cape Colony. Dorothea Maria Georgina was the daughter of Hendrik Lodewijk de Lange Vos and Aletta Johanna Sophia Glaeser. She was born on 29 Jul 1852 at Worcester, Cape Colony. She died on 3 Dec 1918 at Warrenton, Kimberley, Cape, South Africa at the age of 66.

They had 7 children: Constance Georgina Adams, George Glaeser Adams, Mildred Adams, Dora Terrington Adams, Elizabeth Glaeser Adams, Ida Olivia Adams and John Adams.
