Ada Ellen Williams was born on 23 Nov 1870.

She married Ernest North Hughes on 25 Dec 1893 at Pietermaritzburg, Colony of Natal. Ernest North was the son of Zachariah North Hughes and Catherine Jinks. He was born on 18 Nov 1869 at London, England. He died on 11 Dec 1901 at Dundee, Colony of Natal at the age of 32.

They had 2 children: Dorothy Amy Hughes and Ida Mabel Hughes.

She died on 24 Feb 1949 at the age of 78.

She was buried at Old Main Cemetery, Dundee, Natal, South Africa.
