Alexander Hill Low was born about 1903 at Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

He was the son of George Low and Annie Macallan.

He married Catherine Euphemia Stalker on 9 Nov 1926 at Cape Town, Cape, South Africa. Catherine Euphemia was the daughter of Alexander Stalker and Jessie Robertson. She was born on 16 May 1904 at Lodge, Pitmurohe, Lumphanan, Aberdeen, Scotland. She died on 14 Feb 1992 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa at the age of 87.

They had one child: Dorothy Catherine Low.

He died on 29 Jul 1967 at 6 Elons Court, 3rd Avenue/Main Street, Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia.
