He was the son of Charles Lee and Millicent Dorrell Hobson.

He married Edith Maude Keeley.

They had 7 children: Charles Percy Lee, Constance Dorrell Lee, David Lawrence Lee, Theresa Lawrence Lee, Millicent Keeley Lee, Miriam Lee and Catherine Alice Lee.
