She married John "Jack" Newsum Swift on 30 Nov 1935 at Port Elizabeth, Port Elizabeth, Cape Province, South Africa. John "Jack" Newsum was the son of Arthur Benjamin Swift and Gertrude Sybil Newsum. He was born on 22 Apr 1909 at Clifton, Rotherham, Yorkshire, England. He died on 17 Aug 1980 at Pietermaritz St, Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa at the age of 71.

They had one child: Peter Arthur Raine.

She died on 7 Jul 2007 at Port Elizabeth, Cape, South Africa at the age of 93.
