Emily Elizabeth Howell was born about 1875.

She was the daughter of James Henry Howell and Emily Frances Kington.

She married Frederick Herman Schwegmann on 11 Apr 1907 at New Germany, Colony of Natal, South Africa. Frederick Herman was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm Schwegmann and Elise Liselde Schefermann. He was born on 23 Nov 1881. He died on 20 Nov 1942 at Pinetown, Natal, South Africa at the age of 60.

They had 4 children: Mona Beatrice Schwegmann, Phyllis Ada Schwegmann, Florence Emily Schwegmann and Raymond Kington Schwegmann.

She was buried on 15 Jan 1970 at St Johns Church, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa.
