She was the daughter of William Viggers and Laura Endicott.

She married Harold Eric (Bay) Knowles on 10 May 1926 at St Augustine's Church, Kimberley, Cape, South Africa. Harold Eric (Bay) was the son of Harold Gabriel Knowles and Helena Maria Glaeser. He was born on 6 Nov 1891. He died in Jan 1980.

She died on 25 May 1996 at Stadium Residence, Main Road, Green Point, Cape Town, Cape, South Africa at the age of 97.
