He married Ethel May Brookshaw on 5 Aug 1942 at Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. Ethel May was the daughter of Walter Palmer Brookshaw and Emily Charlotte Wallis. She was born on 10 Oct 1886. She died on 20 Aug 1951 at Sanatorium, Chelmsford Road, Durban, Natal Colony at the age of 64.
