Margaret Theresa Murphy was born in 1859 at Limerick, Ireland.

She married Richard Donaldson on 1 Nov 1877 at Otapopho Hill, North Otago, New Zealand. Richard was the son of Josiah James (Joseph) Donaldson and Susan Russell. He was born on 1 Feb 1855 at Moeraki, North Otago, New Zealand. He died on 6 Jul 1927 at the age of 72.

They had one child: George Joseph Donaldson.

She died on 1 Aug 1942 at Oamaru, New Zealand.
