He married Margaretha Willemse on 17 Apr 1768 at Stellenbosch, Cape of Good Hope.

He married Anna Sophia Campher on 24 Aug 1788 at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa. Anna Sophia was the daughter of Frans Hendrikse Campher and Johanna Margaretha Leckerwijn.
