Mary Ann Drake was born on 12 Aug 1855 at Emberton, Pinetown, Colony of Natal.

She was the daughter of Spencer French Drake and Emma Eliza Gillitt.

She was also known as Polly Drake.

She married Frank Charles Scott on 17 May 1888 at Richmond, Colony of Natal.

She died on 10 Jun 1951 at St Mary's Hospital. Marianhill, Pinetown, Natal, South Africa at the age of 95.
