Christina Maria de Bruyn was born on 13 Jul 1860 at Riversdale, Cape Colony, South Africa.

She married Joseph William McMaster on 27 Oct 1879 at Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa. Joseph William was the son of David John James McMaster and Jane Margaret Pinchin Webber. He was born on 15 Aug 1841 at Somerset East, Cape Colony. He died on 20 Feb 1909 at Ficksburg, Free State, South Africa at the age of 67.

They had 3 children: Levina Jessie McMaster, David Frederik McMaster and Jiena Stella McMaster.

She died on 7 Aug 1942 at Bethlehem, Orange Free State, South Africa at the age of 82.
