Jane Margaret McMaster was born on 29 Feb 1840.

She was the daughter of David John James McMaster and Jane Margaret Pinchin Webber.

She married Samuel Hare Colchester on 2 Apr 1861 at Cradock, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. He was born on 5 Mar 1840. He died on 28 Aug 1878 at King William's Town, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa at the age of 38.

She died after 1918 at Premier Mine, Cullinan, Transvaal, South Africa.
