He immigrated from from Butzow or Bützow in 1739.
He married Johanna Sophia Greyling in 1749.
They had 9 children: Johan Daniel Herholdt, Maria Jacoba Herholdt, Hendrik Christiaan Herholdt, Geertruy Johanna Herholdt, Albertus Christoffel Herholdt, Coenraad Frederik Herholdt, Daniel Jacobus Herholdt, Martha Maria Herholdt and Joel Daniel Herholdt.
His occupation was soldaat, later boerekneg, burger 1746.
He died in 1764.
